Argyll Workboats Limited

J.N.C.C. Registered Marine Mammal Observer.

Argyll Workboats Ltd have been at the forefront of protecting wildlife and during our involvement in the many marine Environmental Surveys with "RPS" and the "Atlantic Array "off the Island of Tiree where at certain times of the year exceptionally high concentrations of Basking Sharks were found and much new data and information relating to the habits and behaviour of Basking Sharks was observed and collected.

Working with "RPS" and other authorities we helped establish a Working Code of Practice for vessels surveying or passaging around this largely unknown species in order that the animals were not disturbed or injured during what was thought to be their annual breeding cycle location.

To reinforce this interest the Master of Seahorse II is a JNCC Registered MMO so as all possible steps have been taken to be fully aware and consider the safety of marine animals and mammals.

Argyll Workboats Ltd appreciate both the importance of protecting the marine wildlife, with that of commercially driven operations and firmly believe that with our experience and training, we can satisfy all criteria from both sides.

We excel in doing jobs that others fear to tackle!
